Fireworks at the Field 2013

Celebrate July 4th in Downtown Springfield with baseball, fun activities and fireworks!

Fireworks at the Field returns to downtown Springfield for a third year on July 4, 2013.  Fireworks at the Field is a community-wide Independence Day celebration hosted at multiple venues in Downtown Springfield, including Mediacom Ice Park, Discovery Center, The Creamery Arts Center and Hammons Field.

From 3 to 8:30 pm, patrons can enjoy ice skating and inflatables from Amberg Entertainment in the Mediacom Ice Park, participate in hands-on art activities, including face painting at The Creamery Arts Center, and explore the interactive exhibits at the Discovery Center. The Springfield Cardinals will host the Corpus Christi Hooks at 5:09 pm at Hammons Field and M-Dock Band will be the featured headliner after the game. The region’s largest fireworks show will begin at Hammons Field at 9:45 pm.

A Fireworks at the Field ticket will provide admission to all activities and include a general admission ticket to the baseball game (a general admission ticket provides seating in the grass berm).  Tickets will be available for advance purchase on June 17, 2013 for only $7 per person (ages 5 and up) at all Springfield Price Cutter Supermarkets and Hammons Field.  The admission price the day of the event will be $8 per person.  Veterans and active military personnel with an ID can purchase tickets at the gate or at the Hammons Field box office in advance for $5.  Children 5 and under are free.  Patrons who wish to upgrade their baseball game general admission ticket to a reserved seat can receive a $3 discount on any other tickets at the Hammons Field box office based on availability.

City Utilities will offer free shuttles linking all the participating venues and a wide variety of paid and free parking options will be available in the Jordan Valley Park area.  A shuttle and parking map are available here.
