The Downtown Springfield Association announces the theme for the 2021 Christmas Parade — “The Joy of Christmas.” The parade is presented by Penmac. The parade is scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 11.

Our community needs a little extra joy as we continue to emerge from the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. What better time to find joy than the holiday season? Visit Downtown and enjoy the sights and sounds of the season and make happy memories as you enjoy one of the Queen City’s treasured holiday traditions.

The neighborhood will be dressed up with lights, garland and the Mayors Christmas Tree. Shop for the perfect gifts for loved ones, stay warm as you sip your favorite coffee and check out the special holiday window displays of the Team A.N.A. 417 Downtown Springfield Holiday Window Challenge.

Any business, nonprofit or community group is welcome to enter a float in the Downtown Springfield Christmas Parade, presented by Penmac and managed by the Downtown Springfield Association. Applications are available below. High-school marching bands and dance groups are also invited to enter.

Organizations and high school marching bands and performing groups can reserve their spot in the Downtown Springfield Christmas Parade at the link below before Nov. 17. The early-bird rate for applications closes Oct. 27 and the final deadline for applications is Nov. 17. Space for the parade is limited and provided on a first-come, first-serve basis.

A non-commercial float entry is $150, and a commercial float entry is $250. An oversized entry is $300. Any application received before Oct. 27 will receive $50 off their entry fee.
