The Downtown Book Club is celebrating it’s first birthday! Join the Downtown Springfield Association and the Springfield-Greene County Library District at 6 p.m. for a special edition of the Downtown Book Club.

September’s selection is Olga Dies Dreaming by Xóchitl González. Set against the backdrop of New York City in the months surrounding the most devastating hurricane in Puerto Rico’s history, Olga Dies Dreaming is a story that examines political corruption, familial strife and the very notion of the American dream–all while asking what it really means to weather a storm.

In addition to the usual book discussion, there will be special treats and giveaways to celebrate the group’s first anniversary!
