The Springfield Little Theatre Education Department is excited to present HONK!, JR. in its 2023-2024 Education Series! This delightful adaptation of the beloved fable and the award-winning musical is a heartwarming celebration of what makes us special.

Adapted for young performers, and with a score by George Stiles and Anthony Drewe (Mary Poppins), HONK!, JR. is a heartwarming celebration of being different that is sure to delight audiences of all ages with its sparkling wit, unique charm and memorable score.  Witty and hilarious, but also deeply moving, HONK!, JR. will treat your audiences to equal amounts of laughter and tears.

Placement auditions for performers ages 8 through 18 will be held Sunday, March 24, 2024 at 7:00 PM at The Judith Enyeart Reynolds School of the Performing Arts for Springfield Little Theatre (“The Judy”). At the auditions, participants will be taught a short movement combination, a portion of a song from the show, and will be given and asked to perform a short line reading.

The cast and parent meeting/ first rehearsal will be held Tuesday, March 26, 2024 from 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM at The Judy.

Rehearsals will be Sundays – Thursdays from 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM. Not everyone will be called for every rehearsal.

Performances will be presented Friday, April 26, 2024 at 7:00 PM; Saturday, April 27, 2024 at 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM; and Sunday, April 28, 2024 at 2:00 PM  in The Reynolds Auditorium at The Judy.

A participation fee/ tuition of $235 helps meet some of the project’s costs.
