Fall fun for the whole family anchor

The Springfield Little Theatre Education Department’s Show your Character Event is an annual, Halloween themed extravaganza, celebrating Character Education. Come to The Judith Enyeart Reynolds School of the Performing Arts for Springfield Little Theatre on Saturday, October 19 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. for this family-friendly event featuring high-energy performances by SLT’s Youth Performance Troupes, trunk-or-treating, carnival games, photo opportunities and food trucks!

 

The Pets and Pumpkins Family Festival returns to Park Central Square on October 19, 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Enjoy a day of fun for the entire family, including the fur-kids — including one of the largest pet costume contests/walking parades! Entry into the event is $2 per person/pet.

          

Mr. Pumpkin’s Carving Contest at Mother’s Brewing on Sunday, October 20 at 2 p.m. This all ages contest is $10 for your entry, a pumpkin and all the carving supplies!

 

     

Halloween at the Museum will be a day filled with allergy-friendly trick-or-treating and thrilling spooky experiments at the Discovery Center on Saturday, October 26. Meet your favorite characters from beloved franchises like Marvel and Ghostbusters, and show off your fantastic costumes for a chance to win a Family Membership! Track-or-Treat is Springfield Cardinals’ annual free Halloween event at Hammon’s Field. Trick-or-Treaters are welcome to roam the warning track to collect candy from different tents and tables from Cardinals partners and other Springfield companies. Trick-or-treating will run from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and a reservation is required. You can also enjoy the Price Cutter Pumpkin Patch, a Haunted House presented by MD Kinney (5:30-9 p.m.), photo stations and more!

Chills and thrills anchor

        

The History Museum on the Square’s Haunted History Walking & Bus Tours are back for 2024. Starting at The Calaboose, these tours promise to captivate audiences of all ages, shedding light on true crime, alleged hauntings and chilling stories that have become a part of Springfield’s folklore. High Tide Theatrical presents Richard O’Brien’s The Rocky Horror Show, a cult classic musical that combines science fiction, horror, and outrageous humor in a satirical tribute to mid-20th-century B-movie horror and science fiction films. Be a part of this audacious adventure at Martha’s Vineyard that celebrates individuality, freedom and the joy of breaking conventional boundaries!

Rave to the Grave isn’t just another Halloween Party. It’s a non-stop, heart-pounding experience featuring a monster line-up of the best electronic DJ’s at The Regency Live on October 26 at 9:30 p.m. Costumes encouraged!

Night of Pourers is The Coffee Ethic‘s latte art throwdown & Halloween party on October 26! Come throw down with baristas & friends from all over the community.

If scary movies are your thing, Horror Movie Trivia at 417 Taphouse is the trivia night for you. Join Show Me Trivia at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, October 27 for five frightening rounds of trivia about all things horror movies. Teams can be up to 6 people (and that does include the man behind you threateningly).
